 Clouds at Imageafter.com

Looking out the window
Alia sees the sky
With clouds shaped like children
When its half past ten
She takes her math test-
They’re all right again

Looking out the window
A cat’s quick on the run
He has black and gray stripes
At ten minutes to one
Alia has all of her history done

Looking out the window
As a train pulls in the station
At twenty past one
She’s done Quranic recitation Read the rest of this entry »

Ayana’s Ramadan

September 8, 2007

There was a little girl who lived in Miami
Her name was Ayana
And she wore pink pajamies

She went to the beach with her mom one day
She yelled “here I come!”
Jumped in and swam away

Ayana swam so far
Ayana swam so fast
That she landed in Morocco,
Ran to grandad, broke her fast

The Earth

August 29, 2007

 b1egypt01.jpg

The earth shakes or is still
In accordance to Thy will

The earth melts and spews and flows
Where You would have it so

The earth is rocky, fertile, barren or sand
According to Thy Plan

The earth towers above or burrows beneath the sea
Oh Allah, to please Thee

Nature

August 29, 2007

b4nature_landscapes019.jpg

A cloud heavy with fear of Thee
Rains down its tears upon the earth

A tree with great hope lifts its boughs
In a dua of submission to Thee

The sea ebbs and flows, never still,
                           Ever obedient to Thy will

The sands try futilely to flee
In the winds before Thy wrath
